Minnie Challenge 10 - September 10, 2011

QUESTION: What was the theme (marketing campaign) Disneyland used during each of the following years?
2010 - Give a Day, Get a Disney Day
2009 - What Will You Celebrate?
2008 - Year of a Million Dreams
2007 - Year of a Million Dreams
May 2005-September 2006 - Happiest Homecoming on Earth
Beginning in 1987 - What's Next? - "I'm Going to Disneyland!"

BONUS QUESTION: Disneyland's theme this year is "Let the Memories Begin".
What is your favorite memory from participating in the Disneyland Challenge (DLC)? If you have not previously participated, you may share a Disneyland memory.

ANSWERS: We enjoyed hearing about your favorite DLC memories. Here are some that we wanted to share.

"My son, Dan, and I receiving the coveted 50th Anniversary Mickey and Minnie dolls in 2005!" Darryl, Team Yoda

"Getting to dine at Club 33...." Goodyear Goofy's

"Hunting for all of the hidden Mickeys throughout the resort the year of Disneyland's 50th Anniversary." Wendy, Unstoppable Mickeys

"The gathering of friends for a day of challenge and fun at Disneyland." Stephen, Unstoppable Mickeys

"The most memorable Disneyland Challenge was a few years ago when many old friends joined in the challenge. It was so nice to be able to visit with them and share memories of the past, and swap stories of the present." Robert, Dixie Pirates

"From the Beginners Challenge...Searching the windows on Main Street; we now have a book and I went the day the Sherman Brothers got their window! But really all of the challenge memories are GREAT (2 years going on 3)..." Shelley, Disney Dogs

"Since I have never been involved in the Disneyland Challenge before, my memory is a special time. Raising a family, I never had enough money to take the children to Disneyland as I would like to have. When the children were still young, I was able to make it work one year. WOW...The memory I have is in the faces of my children when they first saw everything. The characters, watching them run up to Mickey Mouse and give him a big hug. The joy and sparkles in their eyes when they saw the princesses. While at Disneyland, the rest of the world and any problems that might have existed, disappeared for the day. It was an experience that I will never forget." Karl, Unstoppable Mickeys

"This will be my first year participating in the Disneyland Challenge, so my Disneyland memory is, going to Disneyland every year for the Hughes Aircraft Private Parties and watching the Electrical Parade. I grew up with this parade and have loved it since I can remember! These private parties were so much fun and the best part is that there was no wait for the attractions, it was like having the entire park to yourself!" Amber, Team Amber

"I figured I ought to share one of my favorite DLC memories with you too, but couldn't narrow it down to just one. I was excited as soon as I met Craig and he told me about the challenge, but I had to wait almost a year for the next one. I remember reading the e-mails in detail and wishing for more information (crazy, I know.) I've only participated in the Beginners Challenge and I will never forget coming in third place, out of just three teams. But we had such a blast participating and just enjoyed doing the challenge together. (I hadn't yet gotten the competitive spirit in me.) After such a great experience I offered to put together a website for the challenge so all the information could be found in one place. We also helped Craig with the advanced challenge in 2010 and I loved learning so much about the Jungle Cruise. Putting together the Pre-DLC party that year was loads of fun too! During the challenge I loved running around taking pictures of the teams as they were searching for answers. Of course dining at Club 33 with 14 of our new friends was an incredible memory I will never forget, especially the two drinks being spilled on the table. I've enjoyed doing the Minnie Challenges and it has allowed me to expand my Disney knowledge as I searched for questions each week. This has been a super fun hobby for me during my spare and not so spare time. But most importantly, I am thankful for all the good people I have met and the friendships I have made through being involved with the DLC. Thank you Craig for making all these memories possible!" Julie, Jungle Cruisers

Winner: Darryl, Team Yoda
